The twelve weeks of the GSoC 2022 Coding period have come to an end. It was a really good experience to work with OpenMRS throughout this time. We’ll be having the final evaluation in the next week. Before telling about that, let’s go through the weekly update.

This week I don’t have many updates because all the main functionalities of the module were completed a few weeks ago. Last week, I opened 3 pull requests to fix a few minor issues in the OCL subscription module. This week, all those remaining pull requests were reviewed and merged. So I spent this week writing the documentation and planning the final presentation.

Final Evaluation

For the final evaluation, we are supposed to complete 4 main tasks.

  1. Video Presentation
  2. Final Blog Post
  3. Final Talk Thread
  4. Project Wiki page

As the video presentation, we’ll have to create a 5-minute video including a demonstration of the final product. So in the last few days, I created a draft script with the things to be demonstrated in the video. I created drafts for the 3 other documents as well. I hope to submit those soon, without waiting for the deadline due to my exams.

Previously I had mostly worked on backend projects and didn’t have much exposure to frontend projects. But with this Google Summer of Code project, I got the chance to develop a frontend module for OpenMRS. I think it's a good starting point for me to work on frontend projects. My mentors were very supportive, so It was easy for me to clear my doubts about those technologies and continue the project. Looking forward to working with OpenMRS in future as well. Thank you for reading! Stay tuned for the final presentation.
